Thinking about autism or ADHD —
in yourself or your child?

Specialist assessments and guidance for clarity and support

How to get an autism & ADHD assessment

Many people contact us because something doesn’t quite add up, but they are unsure what to do next. You may be noticing differences at school, at work, socially or at home, or recognising lifelong patterns you have never had explained.

You don’t need to be certain before seeking advice.

We support children, young people and adults to understand their neurodevelopmental profile through NICE-aligned multidisciplinary assessments carried out by a Clinical Psychologist, Speech & Language Therapist and Mental Health Nurse.

Our aim is not simply diagnosis, but clear explanation and practical next steps

CADS provides private autism and ADHD assessments from our clinic near Market Harborough, supporting families and adults across Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, surrounding areas and UK wide.

You may be noticing:

• coping in school but exhausted at home
• meltdowns or shutdowns
• rigid routines or intense interests
• sensory sensitivities
• anxiety or school avoidance
• lifelong social confusion
• workplace burnout
• recognising your own traits in your child

If this sounds familiar, an assessment may help you understand why.

Assessing younger children

We are able to assess children from around 3 years of age, including those with emerging or limited language. Assessments are carried out face to face using play-based observation alongside developmental history, allowing us to understand communication and interaction directly rather than relying only on questionnaires

Early understanding can help families, nurseries and schools put the right support in place sooner.

What if autism or ADHD is not diagnosed?

An assessment is not a pass-or-fail test.

You will still receive a detailed explanation of strengths and needs, with practical recommendations for support at home, education, university or work.

Many families and adults find this understanding as valuable as a diagnosis

What People Say about CADS

“I have used the services of CADS autism for both my daughters (8 and 9) to avoid the long waits through the NHS pathway. I cannot recommend highly enough the warm & friendly approach from both Tania & Astrid while still providing an excellent and professional service. They both take plenty of time to understand the strengths and difficulties for not only the child but how this impacts on the family as a whole. The process is quick and efficient and relieves the anxiety that long wait times can bring. 5* service all round!"

"I got in touch with CADS in relation to an autism assessment for my daughter (9). I was really anxious about the assessment process but from the first point of contact, Tania and Astrid were not only efficient and extremely knowledgeable, but warm and approachable. They ensured that the whole process was as relaxed as possible for both my daughter and I. I really appreciate the way everything was broken down and explained to me throughout. Following the assessment we were provided with an extensive report, providing invaluable recommendations and strategies, which we are so grateful for. I was so surprised at how well they understood my daughter's strengths and difficulties. I would 100 percent recommend CADS for anyone contemplating an assessment."

"I am so grateful for the service you have provided to us; both you and Astrid have been nothing but warm, supportive and reassuring. My daughter mentioned that her teacher told her that the assessment report was extremely detailed and person-centred. She said that many assessment reports she sees are quite generic, but the CADS report very much told my daughter’s story - and that’s exactly how I feel. I think you’ve really helped us to understand our daughter better and I now feel hopeful and positive about her future."
